Yamaha Motor Philippines supported Kustomanila by bringing moto-exploration and customization in one standout motorcycle: the PG-1. With its timeless design and outdoor versatility, the PG-1 took center stage during a weekend filled with engaging workshops, customization contests, and thrilling test ride experiences. The highlight of Yamaha’s showcase was the PG-1 Outdoor Custom Throwdown. This features three exciting editions spotlighting the PG-1’s versatility and design potential. The first edition, Bikers Build-off, featured five top motorcycle builders — HB Customs, Mark Paolo, Motoyaki Customs, 1008 Moto Garage, and Club Makina — competing head-to-head in a challenge of creativity and engineering. In just one month, each builder transformed the PG-1 into a unique masterpiece that reflected their vision of the explorer’s identity and lifestyle.

The second and third editions are for Camper and Travelers Builds, which invite PG-1 owners to bring their vision to life, showcase their setup, and get inspiration from fellow riders. Their personalized PG-1s were displayed across the venue, creating a scenic and inspiring atmosphere for attendees.

Beyond competitions, there’s an outdoor-themed explorers’ nook for all PG-1 riders. In this space, visitors can fully immerse themselves in the custom culture of the community. Watching Kustom Podcasts about bike restoration and customizing 101, allowing them to have fresh ideas on what to explore next with PG-1. The nook also offers a chance to bond over coffee and have their picture taken at the camping-style photobooth.

While the explorers’ nook invites moments of creativity and connection, what’s happening outside the tent is another exciting story. Yamaha created a specialized PG-1 test ride course built to push the motorcycle to its limits. It features a variety of terrains, rough roads, asphalt, log obstacles, ramps, and sand. The entire course highlighted PG-1’s rugged performance, from its ability to provide excellent shock absorption on bumpy trails to riding adaptability on different conditions. This immersive ride brought the spirit of exploration to life, giving riders a firsthand feel of what the PG-1 is truly built for.

On day two, the winners of the Biker Build-Off were announced. Claiming the title of champion was Motoyaki, hailing from Pangasinan, whose innovative military-inspired design combined rugged performance with striking aesthetics, pushing the boundaries of motorcycle customization.

In the exclusive editions, Crisanto Francisco took the prize for the Campers Build, impressing judges with a seamless blend of functionality and explorer’s spirit. Meanwhile, Oliver Herrera triumphed in the Travelers Build category, crafting a motorcycle tailored for long journeys. The PG-1 Outdoor Custom Throwdown showcased how explorers’ minds work; they don’t just follow a template; they create their own.
