Yamaha Philippines Supports Tamang Ride Advocacy for Safer Roads in the Philippines

Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc. is excited to announce its support for “Tamang Ride”, a trailblazing road safety movement dedicated to promoting safe driving practices and creating a child-friendly society in the Philippines by ACTION, Inc. (A Child’s Trust is Ours to Nurture). It will be officially launched in May of 2025. The primary objective of the initiative is to create a Mobile App that compiles user data/information and collects automotive and motorcycle industries’ stakeholders to advocate road safety, traffic conditions, safe driving for everyone—especially for children. Yamaha Motor Philippines is the first motorcycle brand to support “Tamang Ride’, showcasing their commitment to safety.
Their comprehensive road safety advocacy initiative unites stakeholders—car and motorcycle manufacturers, influencers, private enterprises, and everyday commuters—to address critical traffic safety challenges. Its mission focuses on educating road users to practice safety and responsibility. Engaging communities to promote a culture of road awareness, especially for children and beginner drivers. Developing tools and programs to make road safety education accessible and effective. By joining as a Road Safety Guardian, Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc. takes a leading role in empowering communities to achieve safer roads for all.
The official contract signing for the partnership was held at the Yamaha Flagship Shop, The YZone. ACTION Inc. was represented by its Founder and President, Hajime Yokota, Head of Operation (Malabon Office), Evangeline Balais and Executive Director, Lani Bayron Lianes. In attendance for Yamaha Motor Philippines was its Sales and Marketing Director, Shinsuke Iida and Marketing Section Manager, Toni Acuesta.
Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc. will support a series of impactful programs, including:
Comprehensive Road Safety Education – Modules designed for children to instill early awareness of traffic rules. Safe driving lessons for beginners, integrating practices from Japanese driving instruction systems. Instructor training to ensure consistency in delivering high-quality education.
Innovative Advocacy Tools – Development of an app that maps high-risk accident areas, bad road conditions, and accident reports, providing critical information to users. Creation of educational materials, bite-sized social media content, and interactive training resources.
Community Engagement – Road safety training programs in schools, local government units, and communities. Events featuring testimonials from individuals impacted by road accidents to raise awareness about the consequences of unsafe practices.
Public Awareness Campaigns – Frequent publication and dissemination of road safety content across various media channels. Collaborations with influencers, artists, and rider clubs to amplify the movement’s message.
Sustainable Advocacy – Regular evaluations of the program’s reach and impact to ensure continuous improvement. Allocation of all proceeds to ACTION, Inc., the implementing body, with transparent annual financial reporting for partner contributions.
