The sixth and final round of the 2024 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) is being held at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand from December 6-8.

Here’s an update in Race 1 of the UB150 class where there are 4 Filipino riders.

Our 3 veteran Filipino racers had a very good showing in Race 1 on December 7, but as in any ARRC UB150 race, luck on the last few corners again played a part in the results.

Fernando, Inguito and Mauricio all showed the speed to win, in fact all spent racing within a second off the lead and all were part of the lead pack.

Fernando even took the lead on Lap 4 and Mauricio was a high as P2!

Meanwhile, Inguito was always in the top 10 position with his teammate just waiting for the last lap.
On the infamous last corner of Chang International Circuit where races are won or lost regardless of race class, Masato who was in a position for a Top 5 finish, made a move to the faster outside line and was unfortunately taken down when riders crashed dicing on the inside and slid into the hapless Masato. He was eventually classified as DNF as he was not able to cross the finish line.

Inguito was in a good position heading into the last turn and was luckily spared from the melee and came out a respectable P7 following his teammate, adding another Top 10 finish to his ARRC career.
Meanwhile Mauricio was able to salvage P11, not what he expected considering his fast podium winning pace.
