Carlsen Solis had a remarkable outing as wildcard rider in the MSBK 250 B class of the MAM Malaysian Superbike Championship. He did well in the fourth and final round of the series, finishing both his races and scoring points, a sign that he is ready and has a lot of potential next year wherein he will compete full season in the said category.
Race 2 of the MSBK 250 held on December 15 saw a solid performance from the 14-year-old. He was 33rd at the starting grid wherein there are 38 riders (combined Class A and Class B). Carlsen qualified 9th out of 19 MSBK 250 B participants.
Just like in Race 1, Carlsen had good pace and achieved his goal of getting experience and learning as much as he can. He finished Race 2 in P9 and in Race 1 the day before, he was P7 in his class after 8 laps of racing on his Honda CBR250RR. These two good results made him P8 overall in the final round of the MSBK 250 class B. It was a challenging race weekend for Carlsen as he was not feeling well days leading up to the last round because of fever but he was able to get through it and did well in his first time at the Malaysian race series. “It was a great experience competing in MSBK. It was my first high level international race. With limited track time and experience, I still managed to finish inside the top 10 and got the 8th overall for Round 4. I would like to thank all the people who supported me, my father and Dad’s Garage Racing family and my Malaysian crew and coach. We will come back again next year stronger,” said Carlsen.
Congratulations Carlsen and we wish you well in your MSBK 250 campaign next year!
