Terrific Season Opener for Motul MotoIR National Championship; The Road to Greatness Begins!

Finally it has started! The much anticipated 2025 Motul MotoIR National Championship has commenced at the Tarlac Circuit Hill and it was a resounding success for the opening of the series dubbed “The Road to Greatness”. It is indeed a fitting tagline as the MotoIR has been a great breeding ground for champion riders and international Filipino racers since 2022.

Round 1 last March 29 and 30 at the Tarlac Circuit Hill saw a good number of racing stars and promising riders who want to make their mark in the local racing scene.

Seasoned racers Masato Fernando, Jakob Sablaya and Kerwin Chang displayed mastery again. Fernando who represents Dad’s Garage 4S1M Ravenol Racing was victorious in the Super Limited Underbone GP race while Chang who now races for ADM Racing Team was the winner in the Super Open Underbone GP class. Fernando also won the  Motul 300v Super Open Underbone GP race a day before. Sablaya showed dominance in the Philippine Super Sport 200 GP race.

Another formidable rider, Timothy Rojas of NCY Suntal JDO, emerged triumphant in the Super Maxi 185 GP category, a much anticipated race class with returning team TSMP also on the hunt for victory. Rojas’ teammate Edcel Corpuz won the Super Maxi 185 Intermediate class while TWPO Philippines’ Renzzy Gabrielle Vigo was the victor in the Super Maxi 185 SP category.

The lady racers had an exciting battle at the Philippine Women’s Championship much to the delight of the crowd and livestream spectators. Queenie Claveria of CRA SEC Motosupply S-Oil Seven, Eunice Mae Sta. Ana of 4DPRO CRA AZM Motorsport and Gracie Reyes of Yamaha Philippines were impressive with the riding skills they have shown. In the end it was Claveria who crossed the finish line first but due to a jumpstart penalty, she was P3 in the first round. Sta. Ana was hailed as the winner and Reyes placed second.

Motortrade Kawasaki WRD rider Casey Clamor cruised his way to victory in both the sprint race and race proper of the Super Sport Bike GP class. Pops Shock Attack Aprilia Philippines SEC racer Leeandro Paredes did not disappoint as he bagged the victory in the Intermediate group. Zero2Podium rider Christwil Villanueva from Cebu was the winner in the Super Sport Bike SP category. Jerrber Ferrer of JCP RCB Racing Team clinched the win in the Super Sport 200 SP class.

Dad’s Garage 4S1M Ravenol Racing riders had a strong showing in the opening round as aside from Fernando, more first place trophies were delivered by JM Malonzo who dominated the Super Limited Underbone SP and Nedy Duran who was victorious in the Super Limited Underbone GP Intermediate class.

Another rider who was stellar that day was Jolo Suba of VS Racing Resultado. The 14-year old joined multiple races and bagged several trophies, among these was the first place trophy of the Super Open Underbone GP Intermediate category. The young Suba showed impressive riding in both underbone and sport bike.

KC99 racing team’s Rand Bergania was on his A-game and dominated the Super Open Underbone SP race. Bergania also had a good performance in his Motul MotoIR Youth Cup races wherein he won the Senior Plus class in Race 2. Race 1 winner was Knox Pantaleon. In the Senior category, unstoppable was Ronald Galzote who won in the two races of the weekend.

Club race winners in the opening round were Myron delos Santos of Master Johnworks in the Underbone class and Joshua Kile Andres of Motorad Performance Zero2Podium in the Backbone category.

With the great turnout of the season opener, excitement continues for the Motul MotoIR which is organized by InsideRACING and sanctioned by NAMSSA and USRA.

The MotoIR is possible with the support of series presenter Motul Luzon – Infiniteserv Int’l Corporation, tire partners FDR, CST, Maxxis and Pirelli and event partner GS Battery.

All six rounds of the MotoIR races are happening at the Tarlac Circuit Hill. The second round is on May 3 and 4.
