Reyes was remarkable right from the qualifying on July 19 as she took the pole position of the Philippine SSBK Women’s Championship category. It was an exciting race indeed as Reyes on her stock Yamaha R3 led her class early on the 6-lap race which also featured Super Sport Bike SP and Backbone Club Race classes. It was not a walk in the park though for Reyes as Eunice Mae Sta. Ana eventually took the lead and was determined to take the win as well. In the thrilling laps that follow, 18-year-old Reyes showed impeccable riding and managed to take the lead of her class again and defend P1 from Sta. Ana. It was a superb and close race for the two lady riders. Reyes triumphantly won the SSBK Women’s class and clinched the spot for Thailand, to the cheers of her team and family.
