Young Carlsen Jacob Solis debuted at the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship last April 10-12, the opening round of the 2026 season where he filled in for the injured Jakob Sablaya of SDG HARC-Pro Honda Philippines in the Asia Production 250 class.

Excited and determined in his first ARRC experience, Solis bravely conquered the AP250 category which featured 30 skilled riders from different Asian countries. Solis crashed during qualifying but his team did their best to fix his Honda CBR250RR race bike and he was P25 at the starting grid. The Filipino finished Race 1 in P17, aiming to do better and push himself more in Race 2.

Starting at P24, Solis was doing well at the beginning of Race 2 and he even got up to as high a P16. Unfortunately, by Lap 5 of the 8-lap race, Solis crashed and was eventually out of the race.

“Had a good pace catching the group, running P16 until the crash. I could have scored some points if I didn’t crash,” shared the young rider.

Though it was an unfortunate weekend, Honda Philippines and the family and fellow racers of Carlsen Solis including Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup rider Alfonsi Daquigan expressed appreciation for his effort, reminding him that it was all part of his journey and learning.
Solis had a successful local racing career since he started in 2023. He has numerous achievements in the Motul MotoIR Youth Cup, MotoIR Championship, Honda Dream Cup and InsideRACING Grand Prix. He then conquered the international racing scene by participating in the Malaysian Superbike Series since 2024 and in 2025, he had a commendable MSBK season with podium finishes and good performance and results.
