In December 2019, Suzuki announced the updated Burgman Street 125cc maxi scooter for the Indian market to meet new BS6 regulations.

The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 for the Indian market launched in early 2020

Indian media reports claimed that the company is also working on a 150cc scooter that is expected to make its global debut in 2020 which will be called the Suzuki Burgman Street 150. It was indicated that it will most likely be exported to international markets.

The Burgman Street 125 in India is powered by a 124cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with fuel injection and is capable of producing 8.7PS of power at 6,750rpm and 10Nm of torque at 5,500rpm.

Highlights include fuel injection, aerodynamic design, Combined Braking, LED Headlamp, Full LCD instruments and Suzuki Easy Start System.

It is a very smart-looking and elegant maxi-scooter ideal for commuting, touring and even for delivery service. The bigger 150cc engine should also be ideal for the upgraded power and economy.

Will Suzuki finally have a rival for the NMAX and PCX?
