CRA Access Plus Racing’s Troy Alberto mesmerized with his riding skills in the final round of the 2023 MotoIR Championship when he dominated the SuperSport race. He once again showed greatness in IRGPXVI with a masterclass performance in the Motul SuperSports Grand Prix.
It was not surprising for Alberto to cruise his way to the checkered flag as he had racing experience in the WorldSBK SuperSport 300 Championship, but it is still amazing to watch him ride fast and flawlessly in the stretches and corners of the Tarlac Circuit Hill.
Alberto secured P1 in qualifying and on race day never let go of that position all throughout the 15-lap race. Best lap time of the race was registered by Alberto and his team CRA Access Plus Racing and mechanic Michael Dimapasoc were recognized on the podium as well. Troy Alberto who got his first IRGP title started his racing career in motocross and he also joined MotoIR races before venturing into superbike racing.
Jakob Sablaya of Honda Project M KOBY placed second and his podium finish gave Honda Philippines another MDAP Manufacturer’s Award in IRGPXVI. Third to finish the Motul SuperSport GP class for intermediate and expert riders was SEC Motosupply racing team’s Fritsy Claveria . Having an injury did not deter Claveria’s racing passion. Not able to finish the race was SHARP Honda SCK Philippines’ Alfonsi Daquigan who unfortunately crashed after Lap 8.
Aside from the GP class, the racers in the Motul SuperSports Trophy category were remarkable as well particularly Kevin Balinang of Promax Aspira Motostrada WonderLube. Balinang was outstanding in his class and won his maiden IRGP champion trophy. Placing second was VMAN XTEER rider Joshua Sobretodo while S-Oil SeVhenworks rider Mytchell Joshua Ngo finished third. His teammate Ruben Mabalot placed fourth while John Mark Dialagdon of FKM Fi Moto Clinic Racing finished in fifth place followed by Jonel Letran of SEC Motosupply. Not able to finish the race were ZSR 808 Scarborough Perena AXOR riders Roberto Ferrer III from Zambales and Cheyenne Ban who hails from Capiz.
IRGPXVI SuperSport Grand Prix sponsor Motul started its very first enterprise in 1853. Motul did not simply aim to create the right oil for the right purpose, Motul aimed to harness the knowledge gained at every step and use it to its ultimate potential by gathering together the most ingenious innovations. Inspired by Motul’s 300 victories in competition and enabled by this semi synthetic technology forerunner, the Motul 300V product was born in 1971, becoming the very first fully synthetic oil on the worldwide market. Using today’s technology, 300V is considered as the reference in motorsports.
