Could this be the new Mio?

There is no official announcement from Yamaha Motor Philippines confirming the rumors and pictures that are now circulating on social media referring to it as the next full model change of the Yamaha Mio.

Rumors on social media suggest that it could be the new top of the line model for the Mio family, below its bigger Aerox and NMAX range and that it will finally get a 155cc VVA engine, full LCD intruments and ABS like the rest of its top models.

It could be called the 2020 Yamaha Mio Soul R 155. A post even claimed that the source came from another leaked memo from the dealers indicating that it will have 2 variants: regular and ABS and the entry level, non-ABS model is priced at P85,000 and will be available in Midnight Black, Phantom Blue, and Tech Camo (matte green) while the Yamaha Mio Soul R 155 ABS, will be priced at P98,500. It will be available in Midnight Black, Matte Red, and Tech Camo.

Though other markets will have Bluetooth Connectivity, Keyless Start and Start Stop System, these features will not be included during the intro here in the Philippines, according to rumor.

However, the pictures show a scooter with a naked handlebar which leads us to think that this could be the new Majesty 155 or a Cygnus 155 instead, bikes that are marketed for the Taiwanese market and currently not available in the Philippines.

Still, it’s an exciting possibility don’t you think? We will be on the look out for Yamaha dealers’ actual post for confirmation since they are always first to know.

However, if this is all true, then it will be another mad scramble for riders to get in line at Yamaha delears.
