After their stunning races in the  last two rounds of the 2022 FIM Asia Road Racing Championships (ARRC) in Malaysia and Japan, 4S1M Yamaha Racing Team (the sole Philippine team competing at this level) will be racing the Philippine national races at home this Sunday at Tarlac Circuit Hill in the Performance &  Lifestyle EXPO GP.

It will be the 4th round of the 2022 MotoIR Championships, Philippine National road race event sanctioned by NAMSSA, the FIM National Federation in partnership with Club affiliate USRA. It is presented by Denoo Motorcycle pils in partnership with Motul, KTM,Pirelli, Zeneos, Beast, FDR, Extreme One, and Quick.

4S1M Yamaha currently competes in the ultra competitive FIM ARRC UB150 class in 2022 with Filipino John Emerson Inguito and Indonesian Gupita Kresna.

They are sponsored by Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc., G-REN,  SMOK MOTO PH,
SSS Racing Indonesia, K’Race, Masaya Bearing, AHRS RACING PRODUCTS,  and HJC Helmets Philippines.

So far, after only 3 events and 6 races, the relatively young team has already accumulated 3 podium finishes! That is a podium scoring 50% of the races that the team has so far started. Impressive!

In the first round in March at Sepang, the team already showed it’s speed when Inguito battled and actually led for a few laps to the delight of Filipino fans.Unfortunately, he was involved in a crash and fell out of a top finish.

Gupita 3rd in Race 3 Malaysia

The fortunes of the team quickly changed by the second round in May as Inguito and Gupita both came away with podium finishes. Gupita taking 3rd in Race 3 and Inguito taking his maiden ARRC podium in Race 4.

The team’s momentum continued after a few months in Japan last August where Inguoto.scored his second ARRC podium in Sugo Japan.

With half of the season to go, Inguito sits 6th in the championships and only a few points form 4th overall.

Mr. Mark Tan , the team owner and principal is very happy of what his young team has accomplished so far. He is also very proud that all the R&D of the team is 100% done here in the Philippines at their own 4S1M raceshop.

“We are proud that a Filipino brand can now be seen as competitive at the international racing level. We are also glad that 4S1M product’s quality and performance can now be experienced by other riders in Asia like Indonesia. Also, we are commited to bring Filipino talent to the ARRC in the future for the development of the sport and industry and to bring high level of excitement to our local fans ! Thank you to all our team sponsors for making this all possible,” said Mr. Mark Tan.

As support to local racing, the team will be back racing at the Philippine national level and will join the MotoIR Championships this Sunday Oct 18.  No less than Inguito will ride 4S1M will ride the team’s Open Underbone Sniper 155 together with hisbteam mate Rain del Mundo. Fans missed the opportunity to watch Inguito in the last IRGP since it was not yet FIM NAMSSA sanctioned, a rule thatninternational racers had to abide with. But now that that issue is now sorted, Inguito and other international racers can race in any of IR events sanctioned by NAMSSA and USRA.

It is also heartwarming to see that Inguito.who started his march to the top by winning the IRGP Juniors Trophy way back in 2009, is now a bonafide international racing star when he returns to IR racing this Sunday.

“IR Nation’s goal since 2004 was to grow and uplift the sport. Until 2011, we have been encouraging international participation in order for our riders to improve their skills. In the past decade we have not been able to organize events that allowed us to do so. However, from 2022 onwards, we are very happy that we can pursue this vision once again. It is not only good training for all riders, but also wonderful expereince and oppportunity to all the local fans and corporate sponsors involved. We hope to bring more international riders here to compete with our local stars in the near future,” said IR Nation’s Mr. Al Camba.
