In an article published by Motorcycle Sports, the Sporting Director of KTM Pete Beirer  said that there is a big amount of money that parents are asked to pay to the teams to enable their children’s entry into Moto3.

‘I want to see a sport, not a battleground. Parents of talented riders are sometimes asked if they want to take their child to a team that competes in the World Championship. They have to pay 300 thousand Euros (Php16.448M) per season if they want to buy their child a place in a Moto3 team, ” he said.

This huge price also serves as additional pressure for those who race to adapt the “win at all cost” attitutude on the track resulting in the recent overly aggressive moves in the small bike classes. This has created huge crashes in Moto3 based championships and 3 deaths so far in 2021 alone.
